Chronic Disease Research Lab

RESEARCH
Over the past 80 years, we have seen a significant rise in chronic diseases. These range from autoimmune diseases, cancer, obesity, mood disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. While we may be living longer, our healthspan is decreasing.

We have traditionally focused on a reductionist approach to treating and studying individual diseases,. However, emerging science tells us that our body systems are interrelated and there is more than one pathway to chronic disease.

The Chronic Disease Research Laboratory investigates the root causes of chronic disease - recognising they vary between individuals - and tests therapies that directly inform clinical care. Research projects include establishing more sensitive biomarker panels that can provide early detection before the onset of symptoms and establishing new paradigms for treating chronic disease.
